About ISTD

The Indian Society for Training and Development is a premier National institution devoted to the cause of human resource development with international affiliations. A Founder Member of the major HRD Network chains in the world, namely the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), Geneva, and ARTDO International – Manila. It was established in April, 1970 as a non-profit Society registered under the Societies Registration act, 1860, It has large membership of institutions and persons involved in the training and development of human resources from Government, Public and Private sector organizations, institutions and other bodies. It has 44 Chapters through out the country with the National Headquarters at New Delhi.

The Society publishes a Quarterly Journal " Indian Journal of Training and Development" (IJTD) for which it has a international editorial advisory board, IJTD is a definitive journal for all training and development in Asia. The ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, recognizes ISTD Diploma in Training and Development for the purpose of recruitment to senior positions under the central government. The society is also in the process of raising the National Academy for Training & Development.

Bangalore Chapter:

The Bangalore Chapter of ISTD is one of the most active chapters in the country. It has over 500 active members who are Training Managers, Trainers, Academicians and Skills development professionals. It has organized national and regional conventions successfully in the past. Currently the Chapter under the dynamic leaders of Shri.S.J.Amalan, Regional Director, Apex HI Tech Institute, Ministry of Labour Govt. of India, the chapter has made great progress in skills building initiative of the govt.
